A purpose-built operations platform for welding and fabrication shops — designed to eliminate guesswork, track every labor hour, and protect your margins.
Most fabrication shops run on a combination of whiteboards, spreadsheets, and institutional memory. This works — until it doesn't. When jobs run over budget, deadlines slip, or a key person is unavailable, there is no system to catch it before the damage is done.
Lumex FabricationOS is a web-based operations platform built specifically for the welding and fabrication industry. It gives shop owners and managers real-time visibility into every active job, every technician's productivity, and every dollar of labor cost — so decisions are made on data, not gut feel.
Without a centralized system, managers cannot see which jobs are on track, which are falling behind, or where labor hours are actually going.
Estimated vs. actual labor comparisons happen after the job closes — when there is nothing left to do about it.
Deadline conflicts and capacity overruns are discovered when they become emergencies, not weeks in advance when they can be managed.
Manual time sheets and punch clocks do not capture which job or assembly a technician was working on, making profitability analysis impossible.
The Phase 1 MVP is a complete operational platform covering the core workflows that drive shop profitability. It is built as a web application, accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile — with no app store downloads required for your technicians.
Create and manage jobs with full assembly tracking, document linking for drawings, weld diagrams, specs, and 3D drawings, and deadline management.
Technicians clock in by job, assembly, and task type. Time is captured accurately at the source.
Full technician profiles with certifications, qualifications, and hidden pay rate management.
Web-based GPS validation at clock-in and clock-out. Location is checked once per clock event through the browser — no native app required, no continuous tracking.
Visual calendar showing active jobs, deadlines, subcontract periods, and available capacity.
Estimated vs. actual labor cost per job and per assembly — in real time, not after the fact.
Automated alerts when projected labor exceeds capacity or deadlines are at risk.
Owner, Manager, Estimator, and Technician roles — sensitive data stays protected.
Technician hours, labor variance, attendance exceptions, and payroll-ready CSV exports.
* ROI estimate based on 2 hours/day of recovered management time at $80/hour. Platform pricing starts from $179/month. Actual savings will vary and may be significantly higher when accounting for reduced job overruns and improved labor utilization.
Every shop's situation is different. The following two options are structured to match different priorities — whether the goal is a turnkey managed platform with the lowest upfront cost, or full ownership of a bespoke system built exclusively for your business.

The following modules are included in the Phase 1 MVP build across both options. This represents the complete operational foundation required to run a fabrication shop from a single platform.
| Module | Key Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Job Management System | Job creation, assembly tracking (unlimited assemblies per job), document linking for drawings, weld diagrams, specs, and 3D drawings, deadline management |
| Technician Management | Technician profiles, certifications and qualifications, hidden pay rate fields, performance portfolio and job history |
| Time & Task Tracking | Job/assembly/task-level time clock, multi-assembly selection, automatic task switching, complete time entry records |
| Attendance Controls & Geo-Fencing | Web-based GPS validation at clock-in and clock-out. Location is checked once per clock event through the browser — no native app required, no continuous tracking. Includes shift scheduling rules, early/late buffers, automatic end-of-day clock-out, and next-day notifications. |
| Production Scheduling | Visual production calendar, shop vs. subcontract periods, material wait periods, capacity and deadline conflict visibility |
| Labor Analytics & Profit Tracking | Estimated vs. actual labor hours per job and assembly, labor cost variance, technician productivity metrics |
| Workload Forecasting Engine | Continuous capacity analysis, deadline risk detection, overtime alerts, schedule conflict identification |
| Dashboards | Owner dashboard (full operational view), Technician dashboard (task interface and personal hours) |
| Reporting & Exports | Labor by date range, job, assembly, and task type; estimated vs. actual reports; payroll export; attendance and geo-fence reports (CSV) |
| Security & Role-Based Access | Owner, Manager, Estimator, and Technician roles; sensitive data restrictions; configurable permissions |
Future Roadmap (not included in Phase 1): Quoting and estimating, inventory management, customer deliverable portals, and AI-powered scheduling optimization are planned for future platform releases. Availability and pricing for future modules will be communicated as they are developed.
The following timeline applies to Option A (Lumex Platform), with an estimated delivery of 8–10 weeks. Option B follows a similar structure with an adjusted duration of 12–14 weeks based on the bespoke scope.
Lumex works with All-In Metalworks to finalize system configuration — task types, technician roles, geo-fence locations, shift schedules, and job workflow preferences. All requirements are documented and signed off before development begins.
Development of the Job Management System, Technician Management module, and Time & Task Tracking system. Internal testing and review checkpoints are conducted at the end of this phase.
Development of the Attendance and Geo-Fencing system, shift enforcement rules, Production Scheduling calendar, and all attendance exception controls.
Development of the Labor Analytics engine, job profitability tracking, Workload Forecasting engine, Owner and Technician dashboards, and all reporting and export tools.
Full system testing across all user roles and devices. Client review and feedback incorporated. Production deployment, staff training session, and go-live with Lumex support on standby.
Payment terms are to be determined and will be finalized in the project agreement. Nothing is due until the build begins. A typical structure involves a percentage at commencement with the remainder due at delivery.
Payment terms are to be negotiated given the scope and hosting terms require discussion. Nothing is due until the build begins. Final terms will be documented in the project agreement prior to commencement.
Any features or changes requested outside the agreed Phase 1 scope will be assessed and quoted separately. Lumex will provide written change orders for client approval before any additional work begins.
This proposal is valid for 30 days from the date of issue (April 15, 2026). Pricing and availability are subject to change after this date.
All information exchanged during this engagement is treated as confidential by both parties. A mutual NDA can be executed upon request prior to project commencement.
Option A includes priority support for critical issues. Option B support and maintenance terms will be negotiated as part of the hosting agreement.

The next step is a brief call to confirm your preferred option and answer any questions. From there, we move directly into the discovery phase.
